Zoë Turner was born in Surrey and grew up in Somerset, where her love of music first developed. She went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music and Trinity College of Music, gaining her L.T.C.L. and Dip.T.C.L. While studying with John Wakefield, she won the Ricordi Opera Prize and performed a wide range of operatic roles, including Mimi (La Bohème), Constanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Frasquita (Carmen), and the Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute). She also appeared as soprano soloist in concerts of Elgar’s The Kingdom and Mendelssohn’s Elijah.

Since leaving college, Zoë has enjoyed a busy and varied performing career. Operatic highlights include Musetta (La Bohème), Countess Adèle (Le Comte Ory), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Nannetta (Falstaff), Adele (Die Fledermaus), Barbarina (The Marriage of Figaro), Olympia (The Tales of Hoffmann), Peony in the UK premiere of Ned Rorem’s A Childhood Miracle, and Violetta (La Traviata). She has worked with companies such as British Youth Opera, Bath and Wessex Opera, Pegasus Opera, Somerset Opera, Chelmsford Opera, Riverside Opera, and Beaufort Opera, performing in venues ranging from Richmond Theatre to the Minack Theatre and Hever Castle.

Zoë also performs regularly as a concert and oratorio soloist across the UK and abroad. Her repertoire includes Carmina Burana, Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St Matthew Passion, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 2, Dvořák’s Mass in D, and works by Mozart, Pergolesi, Boccherini, Vivaldi, and Elgar. She has sung with ensembles such as the City of London Sinfonietta and appeared at major events including the National Trust Centenary Concert.

Internationally, Zoë has performed in Italy, France, Portugal, Turkey, Holland, Belgium, and North Cyprus, appearing in opera galas, sacred music concerts, and televised performances, including features on BBC and Channel 4. Highlights include singing at Queen Charlotte’s Ball, performances for Country House Opera, and concert appearances in Amsterdam, Istanbul, and throughout Italy.

Alongside her classical career, Zoë is much in demand as a soloist for weddings and private events and has performed at many prestigious venues, including Highclere Castle, Kensington Palace, and venues across Europe and beyond.

Zoë is also a passionate and experienced singing teacher. She teaches at the City of London School for Girls and Charterhouse Square School, and works privately with students in London and Derby.
